Baba Bulleh Shah challenges the belief that God can be found merely through rituals, pilgrimages, or external practices. Through simple yet profound imagery, he reminds us that the Divine reveals itself not to the outwardly religious, but to those whose hearts are pure, sincere, and filled with love. A timeless reflection on inner transformation and authentic spirituality.

Je rab milda nahateya dhoteya noo,

te rab milda dadduan machiyan noo

(If God was to be found by bathing and cleaning, then frogs and fishes would have found him long back;)

Je rab milda jangal phiryaan,

te rab milda gaiyaan bachiyan noo

(If God was to be found by roaming in jungles, then cows and other animals would have found him long back;)

Je rab milda mandir - masiti,te milda cham chidikhiyan noo

(If God was to be found in Temples and Mosquesthen the birds and the bats would have found him long back;)

Ve miyan Bulleya rab onhan noon mildadil niytaan achiyyan sachhiya noo

(O Bulleh, GOD will be found only by those who are true and good at heart!!!)
